How to reduce fluid resistance with ripple compensators? Ripple compensators are mainly used in areas with high temperatures and small cross-sectional dimensions. The corrugated compensator consists of upper and lower guide tubes, sealing and filling materials, and a metal corrugated pipe sleeve. When the length of the pipe changes due to temperature changes, the upper and lower guide tubes of the metal expansion joint shift along the axial direction of the pipe. Due to the elastic and fire-resistant filling material filled between the upper and lower guide tubes of the corrugated compensator, the sealing can still be ensured when the guide tube moves.
In order to reduce the fluid resistance at the ripple compensator, a guide liner can be installed inside the compensator. The lining tube is welded to the heat exchanger shell at one end facing the direction of fluid flow, and the other end is freely extendable. The thickness of the compensator liner should not be less than 2mm and should not exceed the thickness of the ripple compensator. The length should exceed the wavelength of the ripple compensator. The compensator of a horizontal heat exchanger must be equipped with a drainage interface at the low point of its installation position, so that the liquid can be drained completely during parking. Usually use a threaded plug to block it.
