Points to note for ripple compensators:
During the pressure test of the pipeline, the nuts at both ends of the compensator rod should be locked tightly, and the compensator should be fixed by the force of the rod. Although this construction method solves the problem of deformation of the compensator during pressure testing, according to the product installation manual, after the pipeline pressure test, the transportation rod is loosened, so that all moving parts of the compensator are not stuck or restricted by external components. In actual operation, due to the effect of water pressure inside the pipeline, incidents of water pipe expansion and displacement have occurred. So some construction units lock the transportation rod nuts and fix the compensator. In this way, the function of the compensator is completely lost.
